We make innovative products that park people in public spaces.
People Parkers are about creating better public spaces for people. Our product line offers places for people in urban environments where it is scarce. Think of our products as an oasis in the urban desert.
What's a Parklet?
Born in San Francisco in 2010, the idea of parklets is simple: turn car parks into ‘parks’ for people, encourage community interaction, provide people focused amenity, support cultural expression and increase local business capacity.
Parklets can be used for strategic urbanism, forming a part of the community and governance engagement projects that promote people orientated urban design.

Glebe Point Road Moveable Parklet Program
To ‘road test’ our design we coupled with the Glebe Chamber of Commerce and City of Sydney Council to run a 2 year investigation into the effectiveness of parklets on an urban high street.
The first phase of this project was initiated in July 2016 and utilised a Council grant and an existing mobile shipping container asset placed in 3 locations over 6 months. The positive results of this initial study can be seen in the below report.
The second phase involved crowdfunding the development of our innovative trailer parklet design for another 6 month trial in multiple locations. 33 local residents, community organisations and businesses ensured that the project was successfully funded and the 2 prototypes were built.
ABC Gardening Australia’s Costa Georgiadis helped launch the new design in October 2015 at the headquarters of major sponsor Sydney City Toyota. The design builds on the findings of the 1st parklet trial along Glebe Point Road in 2015/16 reducing red tape, increasing mobility and utilising private funding streams to prove financial demand for product.
The Mobile Parklet
At People Parkers, we have developed a Parklet on wheels which can be taken to any location quickly and easily. It’s mobility and ability to be registered anywhere reduces red tape and provides amenity to businesses and the public in a cost affordable manner.
As a community engagement tool, the Mobile Parklet comes into it’s own. It’s versatility provides councils and activation organisations to test the viability and community uptake for more permanent extensions to public space.
As an extension of outdoor dining the Mobile Parklet is a no brainer; 2 extra tables and 10 extra chairs or parking for 1 vehicle out the front of a hospitality business. Through our pre and post service consultation process, the results have spoken for themselves.
